Albion astronaut set to return to Earth March 11

Josh Cassada, ’95, and the other members of SpaceX Crew-5 will begin their voyage back to Earth starting at 2:05 a.m. Saturday (March 11) morning if all goes as scheduled. The crew would return to Earth less than 24 hours after undocking from the International Space Station. NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Cassada will command and pilot the Endurance craft, respectively flanked by Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Anna Kikina of Roscosmos. The foursome is due to splashdown off the coast of Florida at 9:19 p.m. Saturday. Crew-5 blasted off toward the orbiting lab Oct. 5, 2022, and docked at the International Space Station Oct. 6.
