Albion College Rock

The Albion College rock has been a campus tradition since 1899. Since then, layers of paint have been collected, each telling its own story and collectively telling the story of student involvement and expression.

You might notice some paint missing from the base: this has been collected for our partnership with Rebel Nell, a Detroit-based, women-owned social business that makes jewelry from repurposed materials and uses profits to support programs that promote mental well-being, financial training, and career education. Albion College is featured in the Campus Rocks Collection which encapsulates the symbolism college rocks have long held for the student experience: activism, empathy, camaraderie, and togetherness.

New pieces made from this latest harvest will include paint from Homecoming 2022. Rebel Nell will donate 10 percent of the sales of the Albion College rock collection to the Briton Scholarship Fund, giving back to current and future students.
