Poetry Reading by Stevie Edwards ’09 Thursday, April 4

The English Department invites you to attend the final event of this year’s Albion College Reading Series.
Join us as we welcome poet and alumni Stevie Edwards, ’09. Stevie will read from their latest collection, Quiet Armor, on Thursday, April 4 at 5 p.m. in the Bobbitt Auditorium (Bobbitt 113).
Northwestern University Press writes: Quiet Armor, the third full-length collection from poet Stevie Edwards, examines how capitalism and patriarchy impact romantic relationships and, more broadly, intimacy. Edwards considers how confessional performances of vulnerability can be coercive, whether popular culture encourages men to seek validation through sexual excess and aggression, and how we encourage women to be complicit in figurative and literal violence against other women.
The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. A book signing will follow and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
