If you have ever wondered what counseling or self-care is or if your feelings and emotions are normal, then you are encouraged to participate in our wellness group sessions. These will be online, group counseling sessions that are designed so that you may attend one or all of the events listed below! Each week we will discuss a different topic in relation to mental health and wellness. Email lbeaghan@albion.edu for the Google Meet link.
Session 1 – Oct. 1, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. – In this session we will discuss what counseling is and the different terminology associated with this campus resource. Further discussion will include campus resources and community resources that are available to students.
Session 2 – Oct. 15, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. In this session we will discuss different self-care techniques, how to implement them, and practice some techniques during the session.
Session 3 – Oct. 29, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. In this session, we will discuss emotions and how they influence the way we act and think and how our emotions can impact our interactions with others.
Session 4 – Nov. 12, 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. We will discuss stress and how it impacts our minds and bodies.
Session 5 – Nov. 26, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Collaborative Interventions will be discussed in response to mental health concerns.
Session 6 – Dec. 10, 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. In the final session we will discuss what campus and community resources are available to students to support mental wellness.
