Joe Tate, the first African American to serve as the Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, will be the keynote speaker for the annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation and Community Celebration Monday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Bohm Theatre. This year we will celebrate 60 years since Dr. King visited Albion College. There will be reflections and performances from campus and community members. This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Office of Belonging, the Curtis Institute, the Ford Institute, and the Albion branch of the NAACP.
