Hank Meijer and Richard Norton Smith explore “An Ordinary Man: The Surprising Life and Historic Presidency of Gerald R. Ford”

The Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service at Albion College is pleased to host an exciting evening with nationally renowned historian Richard Norton Smith as he discusses his new book, “An Ordinary Man: The Surprising Life and Historic Presidency of Gerald R. Ford.”

We invite you to be part of a great conversation between Hank Meijer and Richard Norton Smith as they explore Richard’s new book, as well as President Ford’s life and legacy.

Richard Norton Smith is a nationally recognized authority on the American presidency and a familiar face to viewers of C-SPAN and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.
Hank Meijer is the executive chairman of Meijer Inc., vice-chairman and a trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. He and the Meijer family were close friends of President and Mrs. Gerald R. Ford. He is the author of “America’s Senator — The Unexpected Odyssey of Arthur Vandenberg.” Richard Norton Smith also interviewed Hank in May 2010 for the Gerald R. Ford Oral History Project.
