Albion College spring course at Jackson Prison

You are invited to learn more about a unique, transformative learning opportunity: The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. Inside-Out brings college students together with incarcerated people to study as peers in a seminar behind prison walls. It is a semester-long academic course, meeting once a week, through which 15 “outside” (Albion) students and the same number of “inside” (incarcerated) students attend class together inside prison. The class is SOC 230: Men and Masculinities (no prerequisite) and begins in the spring. The class, taught by Dr. Scott Melzer, will meet Thursday from 5-9:30 p.m.

To learn more about Inside-Out, SOC 230 and the application process, attend one of the informational meetings: virtual, Tuesday, Oct. 24, 12:15-1 p.m.  (meet.google.com/ysx-nuoy-dau); in person, Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 4:14-5 p.m. in Rob 406. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to submit an application, you should obtain notes from an attendee, check out http://www.insideoutcenter.org/ and contact Dr. Melzer.
