Spend a semester in Washington D.C. and gain valuable internship experience!

The Washington Center Institutional Partnerships Manager will be on campus Thursday, October 24, 2024, visiting some classrooms, meeting students, and holding a lunch hour information session from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Career and Internship Center-Ferguson Hall, 3rd floor. Pizza and beverages will be provided.

During a semester or summer with The Washington Center, you’ll gain real-world experience in your field, expand your professional network, and prepare to launch a career you’ll love! Even better, there is scholarship funding available to participate in a TWC program.

The Albion College Domestic Off-Campus Program Application (Brits Abroad) deadline for spring 2025 is Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Comet Viewing and Telescope Open on Monday (10/21)

Weather permitting, the Palenske Observatory will be open on Monday, Oct. 21, from 7:30 to 9 pm, to view Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. With an orbital period of 80,000 years, this is literally your once-in-a-lifetime chance to see this comet. We’ll also point out constellations and Venus and look at the Moon and Saturn.
Enter the Science Complex through Norris; the observatory can be accessed by the elevator or stairs on the east end of Palenske Hall.

Analyzing Media: An Intro to Media Literacy

Join the Ford Institute and the Albion College Communication Studies Department for an insightful workshop on Media Literacy. The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Megan Hill and Dr. Katey Price, and will explore the importance of critically analyzing media messages and understanding their impact on society and elections. Gain valuable tools for navigating today’s complex media landscape and become a more informed consumer of information.

 

The workshop will be held in the Belonging Lounge in the KC, starting at 4:30 pm on Wednesday October 23rd
