Donation of Clothes for Annual Thrift Fair

Join us at the KC 1st floor from December 2nd to 4th, between 12 and 4 p.m., to donate clothing for our annual thrift fair! We’re accepting gently used items such as winter coats, hats, shoes, and youth and adult clothing. Your contributions will be resold at affordable prices to the Albion community during our February 2025 Thrift Sale event, promoting sustainability and reducing the impact of fast fashion.

Every donation supports sustainable practices, reduces waste, and provides students and community members with budget-friendly clothing options. If you’d like to make an even bigger impact, consider volunteering to help sort and organize donations or table event. Reach out to us if you’re interested in lending a hand!

Thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to fostering a culture of reuse and environmental care. We look forward to seeing you there!

Recycling Habits: Student Survey

Students for Business & Organizations 351: International Entrepreneurial Exchange, are conducting a survey based on the recycling habits of students on campus. This information will be used for their product, Waste Wiz. Our business idea, Waste Wiz, involves a smart AI recycling bin designed to make recycling easy and convenient for large events. We aim to tackle the problem of low recycling rates and the significant amount of recyclable waste that currently ends up in landfills. Please feel free to take our survey to help further our market research for our product.

Looking for a meaningful GAP Year program that also pays?

Join us for an Information Session with City Year on Thursday, November 7 from 12:30-1:30 pm in the Career and Internship Center, Ferguson Hall, 3rd floor. Pizza and beverages will be provided.

City Year is an education-focused, nonprofit organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service to keep students in school and on track to graduation. At City Year’s 29 urban locations across the U.S., teams of trained young people called AmeriCorps members serve full-time in schools during the academic year as tutors, mentors, and role models. Members earn $7,395 towards an education scholarship and receive a biweekly stipend between $890 – $1,386, based on the state location. Learn more at City Year.

If you are unable to attend the information session but would like to schedule a one-on-one appointment with the City Year representative, Robert Humphrey, please contact Dawn Hernandez at dhernandez@albion.edu or 517-629-0332.
