Join the Albion Ecology class for a presentation by BCK CISMA (Barry, Calhoun, and Kalamazoo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) on managing invasive species in local Michigan counties. Learn about their mission, partnerships, current projects, and key invasive species of concern, such as Japanese Knotweed, Black Swallow Wort, Red Swamp Crayfish, and Spotted Lantern Fly. They will discuss control methods, success stories, and ongoing efforts to protect Michigan’s biodiversity. The presentation will be followed by a walk around the Whitehouse Nature Center to learn about invasive species here at Albion College.
