Student Short Play: The True Color of Mahogany

Scenic painters Alex and Jonas have a long night of tedious work ahead of them when Alex suggests a way to make things slightly less boring: edibles. Their intimate discussion of the human experience and how it interacts with late stage capitalism, religion, and recreational drugs, however, is a high that neither of them expect.

A student-led production, The True Color of Mahogany is a short play that’s sure to stick with you.

Showing one night only: Saturday, March 16, 6 p.m.

In the Herrick Theatre (Dow Center). Admission is free.

Participants needed for Senior Show Video

Art student, Dany Martinez, is looking for two people to participate in their short film “Uncanny Valley” which will be displayed in the Senior Art Show exhibition. The short film is about an art student working late at night in the studio while being followed by a disturbing creature that looks human, but isn’t. This project will be filmed in the Bobbitt Visual Arts Center, at night. You do not have to be an art student to participate.

The two roles we are looking for are for the creature and the art student. There are no requirements at all for the art student role. However, for the creature — the participant will have to wear special effects makeup and will have to be tall and slender with long limbs. If you have any questions or are interested in participating please contact Dany Martinez at ddm12@albion.edu
