Euphonics presents: Head in the Clouds

Euphonics is proud to present our 2024 fall concert, Head in the Clouds! This free concert will feature songs from artists like Hozier, Laufey, and Bruno Mars! Join us on Sunday, November 24th starting at 7pm in the KC Stack. The Corq App is required for all students. We will have a raffle featuring prizes from local businesses in Albion, and tickets will be able to be purchased before the concert using cash and Cash App.

Employee Recognition Celebration Cornhole Tournament

This year at the Employee Recognition Celebration on December 13th from 12pm – 2pm at the science atrium there will be a cornhole tournament. If you are interested in participating in the cornhole tournament please use this link to sign up your team! The sign up form will close on December 10th and a bracket will be sent out to the participants before the event. To help the tournament be the most efficient we are looking for more cornhole boards. If you have a set that you would be willing to donate for the duration of the event please email apion@albion.edu.

Plant sale and openhouse

The biology greenhouse will be hosting it’s semi annual plant sale on Friday November 22, from 2pm-5pm. Sale will be hosted in the science complex, Kresge 176 lab. The greenhouse will also be open for viewing during the sale. Come pick out a new plant friend or shop for the perfect gift for the plant lover in your life.

Michigan Invasive Species Talk on Monday Nov 18th

Join the Albion Ecology class for a presentation by BCK CISMA (Barry, Calhoun, and Kalamazoo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) on managing invasive species in local Michigan counties. Learn about their mission, partnerships, current projects, and key invasive species of concern, such as Japanese Knotweed, Black Swallow Wort, Red Swamp Crayfish, and Spotted Lantern Fly. They will discuss control methods, success stories, and ongoing efforts to protect Michigan’s biodiversity. The presentation will be followed by a walk around the Whitehouse Nature Center to learn about invasive species here at Albion College.

Monday Nov 18th
Presentation starts at 11:45am. Afterwards we will walk to the nature center for an invasive species walk. Please feel free to join us for one or both of the events!

Gentiva Hospice Tabling 11/19

Representatives from Gentiva Hospice will be on campus Tuesday 11/19 to inform students of the opportunities available for hospice volunteering. There are local opportunities as well as locations throughout Michigan. A hospice volunteer is someone who provides support to hospice patients, their families, and the hospice organization. Hospice care focuses on providing comfort, support, and dignity to terminally ill patients and their families. We encourage anyone interested in hospice care or hospice volunteering to stop by the KC from 12-4 on Tuesday.

Free CPR Instruction Classes

Do you need to be CPR certified and/or are you interested in relearning CPR for no cost? Students of the Wilson Institute received CPR Instructor training and will be holding cost-free BLS CPR classes starting 11/20. Interested participants can sign up here. More classes will be offered throughout the spring semester. Anyone needing a formal CPR certification card will have a $30 fee.

IM Co-Ed Indoor Soccer Information & Sign Up

Attention anybody interested in playing IM Co-Ed Indoor Soccer  2nd Semester 

Teams – will consist of 6 to 9 players on a team with 6 players playing at a time.  A minimum of 5 players will be needed to play.  There must be a gender difference of no more than two (e.g., three males and three females, or two females and four males, etc).

Game – Two 20 minute halves

Number of Teams –  4-6 Teams  

When – Sundays nights, 6:30pm – 9:30pm

Where – Dow Center

Length of Season – 5-7 weeks

Start Date – 1/19/25

Sign Up Period – 11/18/24 – 12/3/24

To Sign Up – Email Coach Rehberg at drehberg@albion.edu the following:

  1. Team Name
  2. Name & email address of one person on the team that will serve as the team’s Contact
  3. Names of the team’s roster

The first 6 teams that sign up are guarantee spots, after that teams will be put on a waitlist.
