Calling all business Interested students to join Delta Sigma Pi

Are you interested in business or a business-related field?  Is you major, or minor, in a business/business-related field.  If you answered yes to either of these questions, join us virtually this Thursday, October 26th from from 12:30-1:00p to learn more about Delta Sigma Pi (Pi Tau Chapter).  As a Brother of DSP, you will have the opportunity to network with prominent alumni, engage in leadership development opportunities, support critical career advancement through professional development opportunities, and have access to scholarship funds.  Can’t join us on 10/26, but interested in learning more, contact Dr. Vicki Baker vbaker@albion.edu (DSP advisor)

Buddhist meditation, Q&A with local Monk today

Today at 5:00 P.M., Prior Chiezan Tomczyk of the SokukoJi Buddhist Temple Monastery in Battle Creek will lead a guided meditation and answer questions about Buddhism, including basics, what it is like to be a Buddhist monk in his order, and how to apply meditation ‘off the cushion’. The session will be held in the Umbrella House basement. Whether you are new to meditation, a practicing Buddhist, or just curious about Buddhism, all are welcome.

Chat with seminary representative about ministry, LGBTQ inclusion today

Sara Babcock, director of admissions at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will visit Albion College today, Monday, October 23rd. She will hang out at Reading Between the Grinds (library) to chat about seminary (graduate education in religion/ministry) and LGBTQIA+ inclusion in Christian spaces from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.  You can also set up a meeting with her for another time. Albion College spring course at Jackson Prison

You are invited to learn more about a unique, transformative learning opportunity: The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. Inside-Out brings college students together with incarcerated people to study as peers in a seminar behind prison walls. It is a semester-long academic course, meeting once a week, through which 15 “outside” (Albion) students and the same number of “inside” (incarcerated) students attend class together inside prison.

Spring 2024 — SOC 230: Men & Masculinities (NO PREREQUISITE)
Thursdays 5-9:30pm, taught by Dr. Scott Melzer
