Come Write In: Saturday writing groups all month

As part of our celebration of NaNoWriMo, the AC Writing Consulting program and Albion District Library invite you to “come write in” every Saturday in November. These writing groups offer a dedicated space for all writers (whether you’re working on a novel, research paper, or senior thesis) where you can write in community with others. Come when you can and write for as long as you can! Refreshments will be provided. Find times, locations, and registration here!

Giving Clothing a Second Life: Donate to the AmeriCorps/CSE Thrift Fair

The Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE) will be hosting the annual Thrift Fair next semester, in partnership with Albion College AmeriCorps. We are currently looking for gently used, clean clothes with no rips or stains. Donating used clothes you no longer wear is a great way to keep clothing out of landfills and promote sustainable fashion.

We will be collecting donations November 29 and 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and January 18 and 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the first floor of the KC. The proceeds made from this event will go towards the CSE Green Fund and Albion community organizations.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact:

Holding Space: Processing the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Together’ Gathering Today

Please join colleagues and friends for a quiet gathering to hold space together and process feelings about the current violence in Palestine and Israel without debate.

“The Creation” FURSCA project

Looking for volunteers to be part of a FURSCA research project! The goal to this research project is to bring awareness of the Latino community to Albion and Albion College. It specifically concentrates on what it’s like to grow up with two different cultures and how it can impact our identity based on family, friends and societal expectations. This project is also artistic, so there is a portrait section and possibly a SFX (special effects) makeup section. You are not required to speak Spanish to participate and you don’t have to be a student, anyone can participate as long as you are over 18+ and part of the Latino community. Please email Dulce Martinez at ddm12@albion.edu if you are interested in participating.
