Making Ethical Decisions in a Messy World’ Workshop Tomorrow

<p dir=”ltr”>Do you ever fret about the world but feel unsure of how to help? Do you ever feel uncertain about what’s right or wrong? Do you struggle to make decisions in complicated situations?</p>
<p dir=”ltr”>If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, come to the “Making Ethical Decisions in a Messy World” workshop!</p>
<p dir=”ltr”>When: Tuesday, Sept. 24th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. (tomorrow!)</p>
<p dir=”ltr”>Where: Belonging Lounge (Kellogg 222)</p>
<p dir=”ltr”>This interactive workshop will give you tools to act in the tough ethical situations that come up in modern adult life. Topics include clarifying values, advocating when your power is limited, and navigating ethical differences. Snacks will be provided!</p>

Are you in need of professional clothing for Beyond Albion an interview, job fair, or event?

Thanks to the Class of 2023 Senior Gift, the Career and Internship Center has received numerous clothing donations for our Career Closet. Please stop by our office, Ferguson Hall, 3rd floor, during business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to shop for your professional clothing needs. All clothing is FREE of charge and does not need to be returned. Donations of clean, modern, and professional clothing are welcome.

Kanoe the Kazoo this Friday at Festival of the Forks!

Come canoe the Kalamazoo River in downtown Albion this Friday during the Festival of the Forks.

In the afternoon of the first day of the festival, Friday September 20th, festival-goers will have a chance to experience Albion from the river. On a first-come-first-served basis, people will launch from the Porter Street Canoe Launch, float 1/2 mile downstream where they will take out just past Superior st. Canoes, paddles and life preservers will be provided. 

Please join us between 3-6 pm for the opportunity to paddle down the Kalamazoo River!

The Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE) at Albion College is partnering with the Kalamazoo Watershed Council, the Calhoun County Conservation District,  Barry Calhoun Kalamazoo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (BCK CISMA) and the Calhoun County Trailway Alliance to provide this opportunity.

Book Sale at the Albion District Library begins Friday, September 20th!

Need more books? Of course you do! The Albion District Library’s annual Festival of the Forks used book sale begins Friday, September 20th, with an early sale for Friends of the Library members, 4:00pm – 5:30pm. The sale is open to everyone from 5:30-7:00pm Friday, and on Saturday from 9:30am – 4:30pm. Paperbacks and kids’ books are fifty cents; hardcovers, DVDs, and CDs are a dollar. If you find you didn’t get enough books over the weekend, and I’m pretty sure you didn’t, the sale continues from Monday, September 23rd – Thursday, September 26th (sale closes an hour before the library) — fill up a bag or box for a dollar! Not a member? Join at the checkout! $10 for students and seniors, $15 for everyone else. All proceeds from sales and memberships benefit the Friends of the Albion District Library. Have fun at the Festival of the Forks this weekend, and give some deserving books a good home!

Student Senate Elections

Are you a student that wants to be more involved and make changes on campus?

Become a Student Senator!

Student Senate meets every Wednesday @ 8pm in the Kellogg Center on the 3rd floor.

Applications are now open: First-Year and Transfer Students Election [Application Link], and Special Election (2nd-4th year students) [Application Link].

All you have to do is print out the correct petition which includes collecting 50 signatures from your fellow peers and a 100 word paragraph explaining your interest in serving on Student Senate – detailed in the timeline on each form.

Return completed forms to the ‘Turn In’ bin outside the Student Senate Office on the 4th floor of the KC room 444.

The application deadline is TODAY September 18th @ noon.
