Join us to get a workout while Weeding the Woods at the Whitehouse Nature Center!

Stretch, pull, squat, bend outdoors while learning some of the common shrubs and vines along the 5 miles of trails throughout the WNC natural areas. Come to one or more. Each event will begin at the WNC building located at the end of Farley Drive (same drive as the Dow). Loppers for cutting invasive shrubs will be provided. Please wear boots and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. We recommend multiple layers for warmth, breathability, rain, snow and wind protection. Many of the shrubs have thorns so a thick (jean/canvas material) is an excellent choice for the outer layer. Certain clothing materials can be loaned from the WNC for the duration of each program in order to keep you warm and dry. An alternative indoor activity will be held if there is poor weather.
