“Drawing Together” Dec. 7 @ 7 p.m., Mudd Library

Thursday is your LAST CHANCE to attend “Drawing Together”! We’ll be gathering at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Mudd Library Living Room.

With finals approaching, this “Drawing Together” is a bit of a free-for-all. Of course, we’ll have the usual supplies: paper, markers, crayons, coloring pencils, books to check out from the Albion College Graphic Medicine Collection, and SNACKS. But we’ll also have coloring-book pages! And we’ll make an 8-page mini-zine!

Feel free to bring your favorite drawing supplies, bring some of your favorite comics or samples of your art, and bring your friends — whether joining us again or for the first time. As always, everyone is welcome and zero artistic skills are required.

Let’s brush off some of our late-semester stress by drawing together one last time!

TODAY @ 5 p.m. — All Journalism is Local: A conversation with Aydali Campa of Inside Climate News

Join the Pleiad Today at 5 p.m. in Norris 101 for the inaugural Richard M. Smith, ’68, Pleiad Speaker Series talk.

Aydali Campa is a bilingual multimedia journalist in Chicago, originally from the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona. Her award-winning story on Mexican children crossing the border to attend schools in the U.S., her work with Teach for America, and COVID-19 coverage for The Arizona Republic and the Wall Street Journal have shaped her focus on in-depth journalism. For Inside Climate News, she produced a series about the mistrust two historically Black communities in Atlanta had of the federal government remediating their home’s soil from lead.

In a Q&A with Pleiad adviser Krista Quesenberry, Campa will discuss her career and open up our campus dialogues about environmental justice, bilingual communication, career preparation, journalism ethics and more.

Pre-purchased Pleiad fundraiser t-shirts will be available for pick-up. This event is free and open to the public.
