If you are interested in journalism and looking for a flexible and unique work experience, consider joining the Pleiad! We are a student-led multimedia publication that has been serving the Albion College community since 1883.

We are looking for students with an interest in writing, photography, graphic design, web page layout, marketing and social media curation. We are seeking dependable and curious students to join our diverse staff. Students with a special interest in news-writing, sports and multimedia efforts should apply. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 13, 2024.

Student Alumni Association Info Session: 4 p.m. on Sept. 4

Join Albion College Institutional Advancement in revamping our Student Alumni Association (SAA)! The main goal of SAA  is to build bonds between Albion College students and alumni through special events, service, and school spirit. Plan student programming for events like Homecoming and Albion Everywhere, learn about philanthropy, and collaborate with the Alumni Board.

Cheer Team Clinic and Tryouts

Want to join the Albion College Cheer Team? Come to tryouts Saturday, August 31st from 2-6pm at the Dow, on the basketball courts! The clinic will take place first and is mandatory if you want to join the team! You will learn all the basics, and everything you need for tryouts, which will take place immediately following the clinic. Please wear tight fitting athletic clothes and light weight tennis shoes. Bring a water bottle and your physical! Reach out to Coach Mercedes if you have any questions mpace@albion.edu.

Albion Community Day

Albion College’s annual Community Day is fast approaching! Brought to you by Albion College’s Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE), 2024’s annual Community Day is a day of celebration, service, and camaraderie and will take place on September 7th, 2024 from 9am-12pm throughout the city. 

This year we are introducing CSE’s 2024/2025 theme of “One Albion”.

This year possible service projects include: 

  • Painting at various parks around Albion
  • Harvesting at the Albion Community Gardens
  • Assisting the Citizens who Beautify Albion
  • Picking up litter along the Kalamazoo River and in our neighborhoods
  • Volunteering at the Community Table of Albion

Please meet at the Ludington Center at 9 am. We encourage you to RSVP using the link. T-shirts will be available and be on a first come-first serve basis. A taco bar lunch will also be provided.

If you would like to attend with a large group (student organization or department) please let us know.

Music at Albion!

Did you know that Albion’s music ensembles are open to all students? We offer concert choir, marching band, jazz band, and symphony orchestra this semester, and there’s still time for you to be a part of the action! We also offer 1 on 1 lessons in voice and instruments, including guitar. We have instruments to loan if needed. Email music@albion.edu for more information.
