Free Trip to the Gerald Ford Museum

The History club is sponsoring a trip to the Gerald Ford Museum in Grand Rapids on Saturday, March 16. Transportation is provided. We will be leaving campus at 11:45 a.m. and returning around 6:45 p.m. Tickets are limited! Please contact Emily Abramczyk at era13@albion.edu if you can and want to attend. If you confirm a spot for this trip, you are expected to attend on March 16 since we will not be able to get ticket refunds.

Due TOMORROW – 2024 Recent Graduate Student Trustee Applications

Applications for the 2024 Recent Graduate Student Trustee Position are currently being accepted. This is a 2-year position on the Albion College Board of Trustees. Students who will be May 2024 graduates or who graduated early in December 2023 are encouraged to apply.

Students interested in applying should review the position description and application which are available at the Kellogg Center Information Desk and through the Student Development Office.

Applications and supporting material must be submitted to the Office of Student Development, Ferguson Hall, Suite 216 or StudentDevelopment@Albion.edu before 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 1, 2024.

State of the College with President Webster

The Student Senate and the President’s Office are hosting a State of the College address/town hall Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m., in Norris 101.

President Webster will provide updates on topics such as finances, communications, and renovations. There will also be an open Q & A session. Free refreshments will be provided.

CSE/AmeriCorps Thrift Fair

Albion College’s Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE) and Albion College AmeriCorps, are hosting their annual Thrift Fair. Join us on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, from 12 to 5 p.m. in the KC Living room. Everything is priced at $2.

This event is a student project and aims to promote sustainable and affordable clothing consumption in response to fast fashion. We have had an amazing amount of donations and thank all of you who have supported this project thus far. The proceeds made from this event will go towards the CSE Green Fund and Albion community organizations, including the Albion Community Gardens and Albion/Homer United Way. CSE’s Green Fund provides financial support for student sustainability and environmental projects in the community and on campus.

Leap into Success: Writer’s Retreats

Join a Writer’s Retreat to help you finish papers and projects before spring break! You can get a lot done in an hour — especially if you have a clear plan and people around you who are also working hard.

When: Thursday, Feb. 29, from 9 – 10 a.m. and 4 – 5 p.m.
Where: 1st floor of the Cutler Center

Prizes will be given away to participants who accomplish at least one goal they set for themselves — and more prizes for each goal after that! Each retreat starts promptly on the hour and provides structured, focused time to write.

Ramadan Support and Free Green Box Signup

Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, reflection, prayer, community, and charitable giving for Muslims. During Ramadan, most observant Muslims fast from both food and water from before dawn until after dusk. This year, Ramadan will begin March 10 and end April 9 (dates are approximate).

To support Muslim community members who are fasting for Ramadan, Albion College Spiritual Life and Metz Dining have teamed up to provide two free green reusable carryout boxes per person who signs up.
