GRADUATING SENIORS: WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY!

The Albion Pleiad is looking for graduating seniors who started their college career at Albion in 2020. We are looking for students who would be willing to talk about the experience as the “COVID class,” the challenges you faced that year, how that academic year differed and impacted what came afterward, and so on. Answer as many or as few as you’d like.

If you have time for an interview today email jgr13@albion.edu.

Chamber Music Tonight!

The Albion College Department of Music will present an evening of Chamber Music on Tuesday, April 23, at 8:00 pm in Goodrich Chapel. As its name suggests, chamber music was music originally composed for the home as opposed to the church or theater.  Several small groups of music students and faculty will perform compositions ranging from percussion pieces to piano duets and trios.

Student Showcase Recital

The Albion College Department of Music will present the Student Showcase Recital on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:30 pm in Goodrich Chapel. Music students will perform a program of solos and duets spanning three centuries. The concert will include various works for flute, piano, and saxophone by Franz Liszt, Henri Eccles, Felix Mendelssohn, Paul Hindemith, and others. Vocal students will sing pieces by Florence Price, Roger Quilter, Georges Bizet, and more. This program is a great way for our students to showcase all the hard work they have put in this year, and will be the final solo performance at Albion for many of our graduating seniors. Come out and hear some beautiful music!

RACE IN MEDIA (HSP 137H) Presentations, JOIN US TODAY

Albion College has a history of controversial and sensitive stories that are difficult to talk about. Our projects shine a light on these stories using the Pleiad.

Join the students of HSP 137H: Race in Media for our final presentations to hear about our semester-long projects digging into the Pleiad archives to explore and explain stories of interest to our community. We will share both Digital Archive Projects and a physical exhibition, which will remain on display outside the Library Archives for a few weeks — please visit to view the exhibit any time if you are unable to join us for the presentations!

TODAY, April 23
2:30 to 4 p.m.

Pesach/Passover 2024 Specials in Baldwin

The Jewish holiday of Passover or Pesach, commemorating the Exodus of the Israelites from slavery in biblical Egypt to freedom, begins on April 22nd at sundown and will continue through sundown on April 30th. To celebrate, Jews traditionally fast from chametz (food that is leavened) and gather with family and friends to retell the Exodus story through food, scripture, music, and other traditions at seders (ceremonial dinners). In honor of Passover, Metz dining is providing several traditional foods in lower Baldwin, including but not limited to matzo ball soup, deviled eggs, pickled beets, horseradish, charoset, celery, and matzo. Flourless cake is also available upon request for the first two nights. Passover items are placed in a designated area of the salad bar to minimize cross-contamination risk, and everything is labeled.

If you need any assistance with nutrition while fasting, please email campus dietitian Ashley Palmer (ma4063dietitian@metzcorp.com).
