Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar, Ingrid Daubechies Lecture

Part of a joint effort of the Physics, Math & Computer Science and the Art & Art History Department’s, Physicist and Mathmatician, Ingrid Daubechies will give a lecture on her collaborative, visual installation Mathemalchemy!  Join us Monday, Sept 16 at 7pm in Norris 101 to hear about a project that brought together 24 mathematicians and artist to create an installation embracing the long connection between math and art.

ART Exhibition Reception this Friday!

Join the Art and Art History Department at the first exhibition reception of the year this Friday (Sept 13) from 5-7 p.m. Art, food, and fellowship in Bobbit’s lobby! Artist Dave Reimann will give a gallery talk at 6 p.m. in Munro Gallery.

Georgian Choir Concert Monday

Zedashe, a polyphonic vocal choir and dance group from the nation of Georgia, will perform on Monday, September 16 at 7:30 pm in Goodrich Chapel. The concert is part of a month-long US tour with performances in 11 states and Washington DC. Their visit will include workshops with Albion’s Briton Singers and Concert Choir. The Briton Singers worked with members of Zedashe during their 2019 tour to Georgia. This concert is free and open to the public.

Presidential Debate Watch Party

Attention all interested in watching the Presidential Debate!!

Albion Democrats are hosting a Watch Party in the Multicultural Lounge (KC 2nd floor) on Tuesday, September 10th at 9:00pm. All are welcome! Bring a friend, grab some food at the Eat Shop, and watch Presidential Candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump meet and debate for the first time.

Are you passionate about helping others?  Still trying to figure out what to do after you graduate?  Then stop by for an informational lunch with Mercy Volunteer Corps!  MVC is a gap year program offering professional placements in six cities across the US and one city in South America.  Mercy Volunteers work in education, healthcare, and social services while growing spiritually and living simply in community.

Telescope Observing on Saturday (9/14)

On Saturday, the Moon is the star!

In celebration of International Observe the Moon Night, the telescopes on the roof of Palenske Hall will be open from 6:30 – 8 pm, weather permitting. If we can see the Moon, we’ll be open. If it’s cloudy or raining, we will not be open.

Access the Palenske roof via the elevator or the stairwell on the east end of the building.
