Everyone is invited to a presentation and Q&A by Matt Diana (DNR), Dan Peabody (EGLE) and Suzannah Deneau (Wightman- consulting firm) on dam removal projects in Albion, Friday, Sept 22, 2:15-3:15 p.m. in Norris Hall 101. There are five dams on the Kalamazoo River in the city of Albion and all of them are being considered for removal. Earlier this year the city received a $1 million grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) for removal design of the Albion dams. This event is sponsored by the Albion College Center for Sustainability and the Environment and the Earth and Environment department. The event is open to the public.
