Recruiting participants for kinesiology research study

You are invited to participate in a research study investigating the effects of caffeine on sprint performance in healthy college students. The study requires that you participate in two sprinting tests on two separate days at the indoor track of the Dow (about 30 minutes per visit).

  • First visit: Complete pre-testing and a sprinting test.
  • Second visit (within 4 – 5 days of the first testing visit and will be scheduled within 2 hours of the original testing session): Complete the same pre-testing and then be randomly assigned to chew caffeinated or non-caffeinated gum prior to the sprinting tests.

Participants must refrain from consuming caffeine for 24 hours prior to each testing session. To qualify, you must be 18 – 25 years old, have no chronic diseases or current or recent (within the past six months) lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries. If you are interested in participating in this study, please email Lmm18@albion.edu with the subject line “Sprinting Research Study.”
