Write a letter, change a life.

The Albion Human Rights Lab invites the campus community to take action to protect the right to protest. The Human Right Lab will be participating in Amnesty International’s “Write for Rights” campaign – the world’s biggest annual human rights event. Visit our table in the KC Dec. 6-8 between 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Write a letter of solidarity to a person unjustly imprisoned for their peaceful activism or unpopular views. Write a letter to a government official who has the power to change these peoples’ situations. For every letter written, you will be entered into a prize drawing and you will help us move one step closer to reaching our goal of writing 100 letters by International Human Rights Day. We know that writing these letters works. Often there is a noticeable change in the treatment of these individuals by the country’s authorities. Sometimes charges are dropped and people are released from detention. Take action to support the right to freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly! If you are off campus and would like to participate electronically, email humanrightslab@albion.edu.
