Yinger Lecture – Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.

Please join us for the annual Yinger Lecture on Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. in the Towsley Lecture Hall/Norris 101.

This year’s invited speaker is New York Times-bestselling author Kiley Reid. Reid’s debut, Such a Fun Age, was a finalist for the NAACP Image Award in Outstanding Literary Work by a Debut Author and for the 2020 Booker Prize. Her second novel, Come and Get It, was released in January 2024.

Reid earned her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop where she was awarded the prestigious Truman Capote Fellowship and taught undergraduate creative writing workshops focusing on race and class. She has had work featured in The New York Times and TIME, and her short stories have appeared in several notable publications like Playboy, Ploughshares, December, New South, and Lumina. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Michigan.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments served.
