We need your help to ensure you receive your mail

The Campus Post Office wants to help students, faculty and staff ensure their packages and mail reaches them as quickly as possible. If you are a student, please use the following format when marking:
first and last name
your box number at the Kellogg Center
Albion, MI 49224
If you use your residential hall, annex, apartment building address or a different name, it may cause your mail to be refused and returned to sender. Please be sure to include your full name (First and last name) on all mail.
Faculty should make sure that all packages that are sent to campus include your full name, as well as the department name. These simple steps can help our team deliver your mail to you quickly.

You’re invited to a Coming Out Day celebration

Be in community this Coming Out Day! Drop in for a celebration of the beauty of the gender and sexuality spectrum tomorrow, October 11th from 11am-1pm on the quad! We will have an interactive “coming out of the closet” photo booth with inclusive signs and fun props, a button-making station, stickers, delicious snacks and more! Come learn some of the campus and community resources that support you exactly as you are. You don’t have to be out to find community with us, join us for a good time! The alternative celebration location will be the KC living room.

This event is a cross-campus collaboration with Albion On Purpose, Anna Howard Shaw Center for Gender Equity, Depts. Ethnic Studies and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, LGBriTs, the Office of Belonging, and the Office of Campus Life.

Solar eclipse Oct. 14

On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. The “ring of fire” will be visible in parts of the United States, Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America. In Albion, we’ll see a partial solar eclipse, with about 45% coverage. As a reminder, a total solar eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024, when Albion will see about 97% coverage (with totality in Toledo).

Eclipse glasses are the best way to safely view the Sun and protect your eyes. The Physics Department has a limited supply and is distributing them as loaners for the October 14 eclipse. Please get eclipse glasses from Elisa Reynolds in the Science Complex Office, during normal business hours. We expect you to return them when we return to campus after Fall Break.

More information about the October 14 annular eclipse, including the path of totality, can be found here. More information about the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse can be found here.

Call for help with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

Please consider participating in BUS: 387 – the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)!

The program’s mission is to provide free tax preparation to low-income taxpayers in the Albion community. Using IRS-supplied software, student volunteers will receive valuable, hands-on tax preparation experience under the supervision of Albion College Accounting faculty. This experiential learning program is open to all majors, and can be particularly helpful to those interested in Accounting, Actuarial Science, and Finance.  This program is also a great resume builder & provides students with real-world experience that can be discussed during interviews for internships and full-time employment.

The program will run from approx. the first week in February to the second week in April 2024.

If you are interested – please fill out this Google Form and indicate a possible time slot that works for you.

I appreciate your consideration!
